Magglio OrdonezCarlos Guillen and Magglio Ordonez have played together on the Detroit Tigers since 2005. Now the veterans are free agents and Guillen reports that neither one of them is planning on retiring, despite Ordonez ending his year by refracturing his right ankle, the same injury that ended his 2010 season. It also appears that neither one of them will be back with the Tigers next season, either.

MLB.com reports that Guillen says the 37-year-old Ordonez has had surgery on the ankle and will start rehabbing in South Florida soon, according to MLB.com.

The 36-year-old Guillen told the site that “this will be his first offseason with his full health in a few years” and that he plans to keep on playing. “Why not?” he asked the site. “If you feel you can play, why not?”
