Atlanta Falcons offensive tackle Sam Baker has had a history of back problems and another one will keep him out of the lineup for the next three or four weeks, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The 26-year-old Baker, who was drafted in the first round of the 2008 draft out of Southern California, “had a discectomy, a surgical procedure on herniated disc material in his lower back in an attempt to relieve pain in his hip during his rookie year,” the AJC reminds.
In college, the 6-5, 312 pounder, who happens to the be the son of a former Arena Football League commissioner, was a three-time All-American and a three-time first-team All-Pac-10.
